Three distinctive types of websites have been selected to demonstrate the capabilities of Timothy Wu and Masterpiece Studioz. LHChinesepaintings.com represents a dynamic e-commerce data-driven site. Concordmergers.com is a well-constructed informational site, with many nice touches, making it easy to navigate. As a visual art site, JMPhotoworks makes excellent use of Flash to meet the needs of the customer.

Lin-Hua Chinese Paintings
www.lhchinesepaintings.com

This site demonstrates the possibilities of e-commerce. It utilizes key technology and provides all the functionality and design aspects necessary to sell products. The site offers strong search engine optimization. The web content is clear and understandable to anyone who wants to find great Chinese art at a reasonable price. It is easy to find just the right painting and quickly complete the transaction. Many sophisticated (but transparent) features are included. The site is database driven and the shopping cart integrates with a PayPal account. Through the E-mail Club, visitors can be alerted to new site content and encourages them to return more often.

Concord Ventures, Inc.
www.concordmergers.com

For this mergers and acquisitions company, we provided a website that is clean and extremely easy to navigate. In each website we add dozens of “little” touches that the user never notices, yet they add to the experience. One of those “little” touches is called the “still button.” Few websites utilize this technology even though it’s been available for more than a year. This “still button” is hyper linked to the corresponding page. For example, on most sites if you were currently on the “About Us” page, and then intentionally or mistakenly clicked “About Us” again, the page would refresh. If lots of people are visiting the site and refreshing pages, a bottleneck can occur and potential customers will be frustrated y the slowness. On Concordmergers.com that could never happen. It’s a small benefit, but dozens of small benefits add up to a much smoother and enjoyable customer experience, causing them to return in the future.

JM Photoworks
www.jmphotoworks.com

JMPhotoworks was created entirely using Flash. The owner was looking for something clean but with a touch of uniqueness that Flash can bring. Since Flash can be labor intensive if the site requires constant updates, it was designed so that the text that correlates to the photos in the gallery, the photos themselves, and the buttons, all get their information from a text file or folders on a database. This makes updating the site much easier and an individual can make the changes without asking for a redesign. This also allows for faster download times because the images are being pulled only when asked for.
